Kristin Goree

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Kristin is a seasoned governmental affairs professional with over two decades of experience in natural resources policy and advocacy. As a Senior Associate at Environmental & Energy Consulting, she leads on conservation policy issues and works closely with clients to advance legislative and administrative policy initiatives. 

 

Prior to joining EEC, Kristin served as the Legislative and Policy Specialist for the Road Charge Program at the California Department of Transportation, where she was instrumental in developing key policies and program messaging for alternative transportation funding mechanisms. Her role involved liaising between multiple divisions and external stakeholders, managing consulting contracts, and drafting legislative bill analyses.

 

Kristin’s extensive background also includes significant tenure at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), where she served as the Legislative Coordinator. In this capacity, she was responsible for analyzing and coordinating legislative bills impacting various complex and sensitive CDFW programs. Kristin has a deep understanding of issues related to recreational fishing and hunting, law enforcement, cannabis, land conservation, and grant funding. Her career also encompasses roles at MWH, where she focused on Federal planning processes and integrated water resources management, and at the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), where she honed her expertise in water infrastructure financing and federal policy. 

 

Kristin holds a B.A. in Government with a concentration in International Relations from California State University, Sacramento. She is a native of Sacramento and lives near the American River with her husband and two daughters, who love the outdoors their mom works to preserve.
